Bölümümüz 4.Sınıf Öğrencilerinin dikkatine.Bitirme çalışması konularının teslim süresi 02.10.2011 Carşamba tarihine kadar uzatılmıştır.İlgili öğrencilerinizi dilekçelerini belirtilen tarihe kadar bölüm sekreterine teslim etmeleri gerekmektedir.

2006 yılında yapılan bir değerlendirmeye göre öğretim üyesi başına düşen ISI  kapsamlı yayın sayısı açısından Bölümümüz (AKTEB) Türkiyede'ki Tarım Ekonomisi Bölümleri arasında ilk sırayı almıştır.

Our Mission


Our mission is to provide contemporary and high quality education in agricultural economics; carry out quality research on regional and national problems; organise scientific activities and contribute to the international knowledge base.


Our Vision

Our vision is to contribute to the development of new graduates who possess the qualities of a good entrepreneur; who are conversant with contemporary technologies; who will be able to use communication technologies effectively; and have respect for the values of society. As an outcome of these goals, the Department will strive to be one of the leading international departments in its field.

  • To produce agricultural economists who will be equipped with up to date knowledge and able to use that knowledge effectively.
  • To educate young academics who will be using contemporary technology and knowledge systems in education-training and research effectively.
  • To create solutions for the economic problems faced by the agricultural sector.
  • To achieve a level of influence in the formation of agricultural policies and provide consultation for directing those policies.

Our Strategies

  • To contribute to the development of agricultural economists who will be able to observe and evaluate different aspects of activities and make efficient decisions.
  • To improve and update the research and development activities continuously.
  • To promote post-graduate education, to contribute to the making of expert and scientific minded individuals who will in turn play a significant role in the development of Turkey. The Department supports the strategy of updating and promoting the teaching and technology level in order to achieve this goal.
  • To become a centre of excellence in the agricultural area and specifically in horticulture.
  • To improve joint ventures, research and coordination between the Department and State organisations, private sector and professional organisations.
  • To identify the research topics in accordance with the contemporary national and international problems related to agricultural economics.
  • To establish and maintain a strong data base that would provide material for future research and maintain foreign literature relating to contemporary agricultural research and development.
  • To maintain a strong relationship with the State organisations in order to disseminate the research results to growers in the area. To use mass media and other media instruments to achieve this goal.
  • To establish a base and an efficient infrastructure to promote joint research and education with international organisations.
  • To carry out scientific activities and promote participation for national and international courses, symposiums and congresses organised in the Department.
  • To promote interdisciplinary and group research.
  • To promote the effective use of national and international resources to promote research opportunities.

Research & Development Activities

Department of Agricultural Economics produces solutions to the problems of agricultural sector by means of the science of economics on horticultural crops, protected cultivation, field crops, animal husbandry and agro-industrial products.

The Department gives a high priority to solving the current problems of the region and takes agricultural problems into consideration at the national and international levels. In this framework, the developments in international economic conjuncture, their possible effects to agricultural sector of the regional and national levels, and policy tools that can solve these problems have been continuously taken into consideration by the Department

Main research themes include: agricultural production and resource use; agricultural markets; policy and trade; food industry and consumption; rural economy and environment. Agricultural Economic Department offers some technical advice and expertise services to agricultural sector on the following areas:

  • Estimation of the agricultural production costs and returns,
  • Conducting economic research on the resource use efficiency,
  • Economic analyses for agricultural farms and commodities,
  • Marketing researches for agro-industrial products,
  • Socio-economic analyses of agricultural farming,
  • Feasibility analyses,
  • Agricultural Policy,
  • European Union and Common Agricultural Policy,
  • Agricultural Extension,
  • Rural Development,
  • Agricultural Cooperatives and Organizations,
